

RentFund Acceptable Use, Fraud Prevention, and Misuse Policy

1. Purpose
This Policy protects RentFund, users, landlords, recipients, third-party providers, and payment systems from misuse, fraud, false information, and unauthorized conduct.
2. Acceptable Use
Users may use RentFund only for lawful rent-related purposes and only in accordance with the Terms of Use, incorporated policies, provider terms, and applicable law.
3. Prohibited Conduct
• Submitting false, misleading, incomplete, altered, or fraudulent information.
• Using RentFund to obtain funds for non-rent purposes.
• Providing false landlord, property manager, recipient, lease, rent amount, payment method, bank, or contact information.
• Submitting fake, altered, cropped, misleading, or unverifiable rent receipts, bank statements, landlord confirmations, screenshots, or documents.
• Impersonating another person, using someone else’s information without permission, or creating unauthorized accounts.
• Submitting duplicate, manipulative, abusive, automated, or coordinated requests.
• Attempting to bypass provider eligibility checks, payment limits, verification, fraud review, or RentFund controls.
• Using chargebacks, payment reversals, or disputes dishonestly or to avoid obligations after funds are sent.
• Accessing or attempting to access systems, accounts, data, or payment information without authorization.
• Using the Service in a way that violates law, provider rules, payment network rules, landlord rights, or third-party rights.
4. Verification and Review
RentFund may request identity information, proof of rent, lease documents, landlord confirmation, bank records, payment screenshots, income or employment information, provider information, or other documentation to verify a request, investigate misuse, or protect the Service.
5. Actions RentFund May Take
• Deny, delay, pause, cancel, or reverse a request where possible.
• Suspend, restrict, or terminate website or app access.
• Require proof, repayment, corrected information, or additional verification.
• Deny future requests or remove access to offers.
• Share relevant information with providers, banks, processors, landlords, property managers, fraud prevention vendors, regulators, law enforcement, or legal advisors where permitted by law.
• Contest chargebacks, recover losses, preserve records, and take legal or collection action where appropriate and lawful.
6. No Obligation to Disclose Risk Rules
RentFund may use internal risk, fraud, eligibility, security, and compliance rules. RentFund is not required to disclose detailed risk rules if disclosure could compromise security, fraud prevention, provider requirements, or the integrity of the Service.
7. Consequences of Misuse
Misuse may result in account suspension, denial of service, requirement to return funds, loss of offers, provider action, dispute evidence submission, legal claims, and reporting to appropriate parties where permitted by law.
