Welcome to RentFund. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the RentFund platform, website, and services (collectively, the “Service”). By using RentFund, you agree to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Platform.
1. Overview of Services
RentFund is a platform designed to simplify rent payments.
Through RentFund, users may:
- Pay rent using a credit card or bank account (direct withdrawal)
- Send rent payments directly to their landlord via e-transfer or direct deposit
- Schedule rent payments in advance
- Access additional funds to cover rent shortfalls, subject to approval
If you are short on cash, RentFund allows you to request additional funds to complete your rent payment. These funds may be provided by third-party financial providers, and approval is not guaranteed.
RentFund combines your available funds with any approved additional funds and sends a single payment directly to your landlord.
2. Account Types
RentFund offers two types of accounts:
Free Account
- No cost to use
- Access to core rent payment features
- Standard processing times and limits may apply
Premium Account
- Paid subscription (if applicable)
- Includes additional benefits such as:
- Faster processing times
- Higher limits (where applicable)
- Priority support
- Additional features as determined by RentFund
All current features, benefits, and differences between Free and Premium accounts are listed on the Pricing Page, which may be updated at any time.
3. Payments & Processing
By using RentFund, you agree that:
- All payments are initiated by you
- You are responsible for entering accurate landlord payment details, including:
- E-transfer information
- Direct deposit details
- RentFund will send payments based on the information you provide
Processing Times
- Payments are subject to processing times which may vary depending on:
- Payment method
- Account type (Free vs Premium)
- Third-party providers
Processing times are displayed within the platform or on the Pricing Page.
4. Scheduled Payments
RentFund may allow users to schedule rent payments in advance.
By scheduling a payment, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Scheduled payments are not guaranteed to be sent
- Payments will only be processed if all required steps are successfully completed, including:
- Payment method authorization
- Sufficient funds availability
- Completion of any required approvals (if applicable)
If you fail to complete any required steps, the scheduled payment will not be processed.
RentFund will notify you within the app if:
- A scheduled payment fails
- Additional steps are required to complete the payment
You remain fully responsible for ensuring your rent is paid on time.
5. Responsibility for Rent Payments
You acknowledge and agree that:
- You are solely responsible for ensuring your rent is paid on time
- You must account for all processing times when scheduling or sending payments
- RentFund does not guarantee instant delivery of funds
No Liability for Late Payments
RentFund is not responsible or liable for:
- Late rent payments
- Missed payments
- Fees, penalties, or damages caused by delays or failed transactions
All payment decisions and timing are made at your own discretion and risk.
6. Additional Funds (Optional Service)
RentFund may provide access to additional funds to help complete your rent payment.
Important:
- This service is optional
- Funds may be provided by third-party lenders or financial providers
- Approval is subject to:
- Eligibility criteria
- Risk assessment
- Third-party provider terms
RentFund’s Role:
- RentFund does not act as a lender
- RentFund does not make lending decisions
- RentFund does not guarantee approval
Any funding provided is governed by the terms of the third-party provider.
7. Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) Agreement
By choosing to pay rent using a bank account (direct withdrawal), you:
- Authorize RentFund to debit your bank account in accordance with your payment instructions
- Agree to the RentFund Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD) Agreement

8. Payment Confirmations & History
RentFund will:
- Notify you when a payment has been successfully sent to your landlord
- Provide confirmation details within the app
- Maintain a record of your payment history within your account
You are responsible for reviewing payment confirmations and ensuring accuracy.
9. Fees
Users agree to any applicable fees associated with:
- Payment processing
- Transactions
- Premium account subscriptions
- Third-party funding services
All fees are disclosed before completing a transaction.
10. Third-Party Services & Payment Processing
RentFund uses secure third-party service providers, including:
- Payment processors
- Financial institutions
- Lending providers
These providers help ensure secure and encrypted transactions.
By using RentFund, you agree to:
- The use of these third-party providers
- Their respective terms and conditions
RentFund is not responsible for the actions or decisions of third-party providers.
11. Accuracy of Information
You agree to provide accurate and complete information, including:
- Personal details
- Payment information
- Landlord/payment recipient details
RentFund is not responsible for errors resulting from incorrect information provided by you.
12. Cancellation & Account Termination
You may cancel your account at any time.
Upon cancellation:
- You will lose access to your account
- You may lose access to:
- Payment history
- Account data
- Premium benefits
Premium Account Considerations
- The longer you maintain a Premium account, the more your account history and usage may contribute to:
- Higher limits
- Access to certain features or benefits
This is not guaranteed, but may be considered as part of RentFund’s internal systems and eligibility assessments.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RentFund is not liable for:
- Payment delays or failures
- Scheduled payment failures
- Funding denials
- Losses resulting from user actions or third-party services
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Your use of RentFund is at your own risk.
14. Changes to the Service
RentFund may:
- Modify features, benefits, or pricing
- Add or remove services
- Update account structures (Free or Premium)
All changes will be reflected on the platform or Pricing Page.
15. Privacy
Your use of RentFund is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Platform shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located within Alberta.
