1. Purpose

This Policy explains when proof of rent use is required and what happens if a user receives funds directly and does not prove that the funds were used for rent.

2. When Proof Is Required

If RentFund sends funds directly to the user instead of to the landlord, property manager, or rent recipient, the user must use the funds only for rent and provide proof that the rent payment was made. RentFund may also request proof when funds are sent to a landlord or recipient if RentFund needs to verify completion, investigate a dispute, prevent fraud, or satisfy provider requirements.

3. Accepted Proof

• Rent receipt showing the user name, landlord or property manager name, amount, date, and rental address or account reference.

• Bank statement or transaction record showing the rent transfer, payment amount, date, and recipient.

• Landlord or property manager confirmation confirming receipt of rent.

• Property-management portal receipt or screenshot showing payment completion.

• Another document accepted by RentFund in its discretion.

4. Proof Requirements

• Proof must be clear, readable, complete, truthful, and unaltered.

• Proof must show that the funds were used for rent or a rent-related payment approved by RentFund.

• RentFund may reject screenshots, documents, or statements that are cropped, unclear, inconsistent, altered, unverifiable, or insufficient.

• RentFund may request additional proof, landlord confirmation, bank confirmation, or supporting documents.

5. Deadline to Submit Proof

Unless RentFund states a different deadline in the Service or in writing, proof must be submitted within three (3) calendar days after funds are sent directly to the user. If rent is paid later than expected, the user must notify RentFund before the deadline and provide an explanation.

6. Failure to Provide Proof

• RentFund may suspend or restrict the user’s account.

• RentFund may deny future requests or remove access to offers.

• RentFund may require the user to return the full amount of funding sent.

• RentFund may contact the landlord or property manager to verify payment.

• RentFund may share relevant information with providers, banks, payment processors, fraud prevention vendors, regulators, or legal authorities where permitted by law.

• RentFund may take steps to recover funds or losses caused by misuse, misrepresentation, or failure to provide proof.

7. Misuse of Funds

Using direct-to-user funds for anything other than rent, submitting false proof, altering documents, misrepresenting rent status, or refusing to provide proof may be treated as misuse of the Service and may trigger the Acceptable Use, Fraud Prevention, and Misuse Policy.
