1. Purpose

These Payment Authorization Terms explain how users authorize RentFund and its third-party providers to process, facilitate, and send rent-related funds using supported payment methods.

2. User Authorization

By submitting a request, selecting a transfer method, accepting a payment option, adding recipient details, or completing a provider checkout or approval flow, the user authorizes RentFund and its providers to take actions reasonably necessary to complete the Service.

• Send rent-related funds to the selected landlord, property manager, rent recipient, or user.

• Use e-transfer, direct deposit, Stripe, banking rails, payment processors, or other supported transfer methods.

• Share necessary information with payment processors, banks, providers, landlords, property managers, or recipients to complete or verify the transfer.

• Send funds in the user’s name or indicate that the payment is sent on behalf of the user.

• Pause, delay, reverse, reject, or cancel a transfer when required information is missing, incorrect, suspicious, incomplete, or unverifiable.

3. Accuracy of Recipient Details

The user is solely responsible for entering accurate recipient and transfer information. This may include the recipient name, landlord name, property manager name, email address, phone number, direct deposit information, institution number, transit number, account number, account holder name, payment reference, memo details, and any other information requested by RentFund or a provider.

4. E-Transfer Payments

• The user must provide the correct e-transfer recipient information.

• The user is responsible for confirming that the recipient can receive the e-transfer.

• Delays may occur if the recipient fails to accept the transfer, enters incorrect information, has deposit limits, or uses incompatible banking settings.

• RentFund is not responsible for loss, delay, rejection, or late rent caused by incorrect e-transfer information.

5. Direct Deposit Payments

Direct deposit transfers may be facilitated through Stripe or another payment processor. The user, landlord, property manager, or recipient may be required to enter details directly with the provider. Failure to complete provider onboarding or enter accurate payout information may delay or prevent the transfer.

6. Timing

Funds are normally sent within twenty-four (24) hours after approval and completion of all required information, but timing is not guaranteed. Processing can be affected by weekends, holidays, fraud review, compliance checks, provider delays, bank processing, recipient action, incorrect details, technical issues, or other events outside RentFund’s control.

7. Transfer Errors

If a user believes a transfer error occurred, the user must contact RentFund promptly with all relevant details. RentFund may investigate but cannot guarantee recovery of funds, reversal of a payment, provider action, landlord cooperation, or bank correction.

8. No Liability for User Error

RentFund is not liable for incorrect, incomplete, outdated, or fraudulent recipient information submitted by the user or another authorized party, or for losses, penalties, late rent, failed payments, or disputes caused by such information.
